Forestry Commission Scotland has appointed Lynn Daley as community ranger for Fife and Clackmannanshire.

Working as part of the Commission’s community and recreation team for the area, Lynn is responsible for a number of woodlands, including Blairadam, Devilla, Cardenden, Balgownie, Bernarty, Carnock, Cullaloe, Dean Plantation, Gartmorn, Lambhill and Pitcairn.

Her role involves working with community groups and local schools to raise awareness of the woodlands and to encourage outdoor events and activities across the sites.

She said:  “I’m very excited about my role.  I used to work for the Commission as an Education Officer for north-east Wales, so I’m delighted to be working with the Commission again and to join the team in Fife and Clackmannanshire.

“There are so many wonderful sites in the area; I’m looking forward to getting to know them and the communities that I’m working in.

“Part of my role is to encourage visitors to use the woodlands responsibly, as well as ensuring that people from all backgrounds and abilities can use and enjoy their local woodlands more often.

“If you see me about in the woodlands, please stop to say hello and ask me any questions about the woodlands or share ideas for community events.”
