Cuningar Loop - series of events

A series of exciting outdoor creative events are taking place at Cuningar Loop throughout February and March for people across South Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
Designed to give you a new view of the woodland and its environment, the first ‘Change Your Perspective’ event takes place on Thursday 1st February. Kicking off at 10am, participants are encouraged to walk, talk, share and create using Cuningar Loop’s landscape as a vehicle for creativity.
Organised by Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust, in partnership with Forestry Commission Scotland and Clyde Gateway, the walking programme is made up of six different walks using various creative ways to view Cuningar Loop’s environment in a new and unique way. Walks are free, and people can book onto any of the walks in the programme. Participants are asked to bring their own smartphone or camera.
Susan Miller, enterprise manager at Healthy n Happy, said: “The Change Your Perspective series is designed to encourage people to see Cuningar Loop through a different lens by introducing a number of walks that bring in different styles of creativity that help identify a new view of the woodland park. Plus, it’s a great way to get out and about during the long dark days and a great opportunity to meet new people and socialise.”
Hugh McNish, Development Officer at Forestry Commission Scotland, said: “Cuningar Loop is an incredible space for activities such as these creative walking sessions. The site itself offers a safe natural environment and we hope by introducing events such as these people will see the versatility of learning outdoors, even during the winter months.”
‘Change Your Perspective’ is the first instalment of an ongoing event programme aimed at engaging the local community in a variety of outdoor activities ranging from health and wellbeing, physical exercise, creative workshops, photography walks and cycle rides.
