Call For Peebles Wood Market exhibitors

The Treefest Partnership is inviting all homegrown wood makers to get in touch if they want an opportunity to exhibit at this year’s popular Peebles Wood Market.

The Wood Market, held on the weekend 24 & 25 October, offers the public a chance to buy quality wooden products direct from the makers.

From furniture to firewood, sawn timber to toys and pretty much everything in-between, the market has proved a massive hit with shoppers.

An added boost this year is that Woodland Trust Scotland is sponsoring the event, helping to spread the message wider than ever.

Iain Laidlaw, Forestry Commission Scotland said:

“For a number of years the Peebles Wood Market has been growing from strength to strength.

“At this stage we are looking for all homegrown wood makers to get in touch so we can plan our indoor and outdoor exhibitor space in plenty of time.

“We expect this year’s event to be the best yet and it is great news that Woodland Trust Scotland is getting right behind the event.”

Every year there are numerous sellers showing off some of Scotland’s most beautiful furniture, bowls, boxes, clocks, rocking horses, mirrors, toys, carvings and other wooden gifts.

Outside there is plenty of space for log cabins, sheds, garden furniture, fencing, sawn timber, firewood, stoves, boilers, trees and more for sale.

There are also chainsaw carving and mobile sawing demos to watch and visitors can try their hand at bodging and making other wooden items.

Carol Evans, director of the Woodland Trust Scotland said:

“We’re delighted to support the Peebles Wood Market in its tenth year.

“The Woodland Trust Scotland aims to foster a strong woodland culture in communities around the country and this event, which highlights the wide range of home grown products which can be crafted from wood, is a great way to help achieve that.”
