Spotlight Musical Theatre Group (SMTG) has applied to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase a redundant deer larder building and site at Barcaldine, Argyll.

Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, the NFLS gives communities the opportunity to bid to buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.

SMTG is a community focussed performance group based in Oban and North Lorn.  The group initially want to use the building for storage purposes and to provide workshop space but have a long-tem plan to improve or replace the building to allow for a wider range of uses.

A 28-day open consultation period is required by the scheme and public comments on any aspect of the proposal are welcome. All comments on the proposals must be submitted by 12th December 2013.
