Native woodland partnership for Scotland

The aims of the Native Woodland Partnership for Scotland (NWPS) are to:

  • lead the implementation of native woodland Habitat Action Plans (HAPs);
  • advise on native woodland management to help achieve HAP and Species Action Plan targets;
  • co-ordinate action undertaken by partner bodies; and
  • advise on relevant issues, policies, best practice and research.

The partnership also helps to deliver the parts of the Scottish Forestry Strategy and Scottish Biodiversity Strategy relevant to native woodlands.

The NWPS covers all native woodland HAPs and also the Scottish elements of the wood pasture and parkland HAP.

Members of the partnership include representatives from government bodies, owners associations, professional bodies and non-governmental organisations.  Current partners include:
