Land Information Search (LIS)

Launch Land Information Search >>

Land Information Search is a map based search tool developed by Forestry Commission Scotland, Scotland’s Environment and Scottish Natural Heritage.

LIS allows you to search your area of interest for land designations that must be taken into account when applying for rural development contracts and/or felling licences. It’s of use to agricultural, forestry and moorland management stakeholders (e.g. landowners, agents working on behalf of land owners, public sector or industry representatives searching for information required for an Environmental Impact Assessment, Scottish Government (and other) grant funding, and also interested members of the general public.)

Forestry Grant Scheme and felling licence applications

Applicants for Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) Forestry Grant Scheme Contracts or felling licences must take this information into account when applying for grants or licences.

Please note that we cannot accept a printed copy of a Land Information Search map as part of a Forestry Grant Scheme or felling licence application.
