New Procurement Strategy

We have published our first draft Procurement Strategy and we invite stakeholders and members of the public to comment on it.

The strategy aims to ensure that the wider requirements of the public procurement reform agenda are adhered to. It has been developed in line with local and national priorities and will support our corporate aims and objectives.

The strategy recognises both the changing procurement landscape and the changing times for Forestry and the management of the National Forest Estate.  It sets out our procurement objectives and an action plan for 2017/18.  A programme of improvement is envisaged over the next few years and this is expressed within the action plan.

The strategy comes on the back of the new Scottish procurement legislation.

The aim of this consultation is to gather views on the content of our Procurement Strategy including our planned approach to procurement activity during the financial year April 2017 to March 2018, to comply with the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act.

Jenna Morrison, Procurement Manager for Forestry Commission Scotland, said: “Consultation is an essential part of our strategy making process. It gives us the opportunity to consider your opinion and expertise on this important area of our business.

“All responses will be analysed and considered along with any further available information. Depending on the nature of the responses received, these may:

  • confirm that our suggested approach is correct;
  • inform the development or change of a particular section, policy or action;
  • add further information.”
