Forest barriers to stop overnight stays

Visitors to Dunottar Woods are being advised that height restriction barriers are being installed at the Glasslaw car park.

Forest Enterprise Scotland is installing the 2m high barriers after repeated misuse of the site for parking larger vehicles.

Calum Murray, for the FES team in the area, said;

“All of our car parks are for forest visitors. We make it very clear that overnight stays are not permitted but people often disregard this and stop at Glasslaw.

“Regrettably this will affect people with roof bars on their car or those towing horse boxes but there is some roadside parking at Dunottar. The Quarry Carpark will remain fully accessible.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

The Forest Enterprise Scotland team has worked in partnership with the Dunnottar Woodland Park Association which represent the people of Stonehaven.

For advice on alternative available parking call the local team on 0300 067 6200.
