Aberdeenshire forest fun sessions

dens3

Are you looking for something different to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays?

Then why not come along to an afternoon of forest fun with Forest Enterprise Scotland and learn how to build a woodland shelter, or make some forest art!

The shelter building day will take place at Tyrebagger Wood next week (Tuesday 26th July, 2 pm-4 pm).  Join the ranger and learn how to gather and put together the right sort of materials to make a shelter.

Then on Tuesday 2 August (2pm-4pm) join the Forest Art session and walk through Dunnottar Woods seeking insipiration and materials to make your own piece of natural art.

FES Communities and Recreation Ranger, Neil Taylor, said;

“Both sessions will be great fun – what could be better than a walk in the woods and picking up natural materials to make something?

“It's fun for families to come along and learn new skills, and it will certainly help you look at forests in a new way. It’s a great way to reconnect with nature and once you’ve got the knack, you’ll probably find that you’ll be making shelters or forest art on every woodland visit.

“No equipment is required - other than suitable outdoor clothing that can get dirty – and maybe a snack to help feed those creative minds!”

Suitable for children (and families) each event will incur a small charge of £2 per child and all children must be accompanied by an adult (who get in for free).

Both events are likely to prove popular so you will need to book if you want to secure a place.
