Community Forest Party at Whitby Street Woodland

Forestry Commission Scotland and Parkhead Youth Project are encouraging the local community to celebrate with them at a Forest Party at Whitby Street Woodland on 26th June, 12 – 4pm.

There will be a range of outdoor and woodland-based activities, including nature arts and crafts, music, workshops, henna tattoos, performances and a world buffet with a taste from every continent supplied by local business A Couple of Cooks.

This event is part of the Scottish Refugee Festival (14-26 June) and is aimed at bringing the local community together. Forestry Commission Scotland holds events like the Forest Party to encourage the public to get involved in their local community, and to use their local woodland for outdoor activities.

Romena Huq, Forestry Commission Scotland, said:

“We are excited to be holding this event.  Forests and woodlands are beautiful outdoor spaces that everyone can use.

"Our forest and woodland based events are always so much fun and we are especially looking forward to this one because it is combined with an important event such as the Scottish Refugee Festival.

"We hope everyone will come along and join us for our Forest Party.”

The Forest Party is being funded by the Scottish Refugee Council, Glasgow City Council and Forestry Commission Scotland. For more information on how to get involved call 0141 550 2621.
