Tree Felling at Sutherland’s Grove

Forest Enterprise Scotland is carrying out essential tree felling at Sutherland’s Grove (Barcaldine) car park during this week.

Whilst this work is in operation, the Grove’s car park will be temporarily closed but all the trails found in the forest still open.

Alternative parking is at Glen Creran and Beinn Lora, both around 10 minutes away.

The tree felling work is expected to be completed by this weekend when the car park will be opened back up again.

Beat Forester Stuart Findlay said:

“We have some valuable and historic trees located right in the car park which need to be maintained. As part of our safety programme,  it is essential that we look after these trees and carry out thinning and felling to keep the trees in good overall health.

“We recognise that this is a busy site and apologise for any inconvenience caused.  All the popular trails will remain open for people to enjoy, including the Sustrans cycle route”.
