Morvern Community Development Company Ltd apply to NFLS

Morvern Community Development Company (MCDC) has applied to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase an area of land at Lochaline on the Morvern peninsula.

Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, the NFLS gives communities the opportunity to bid to buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.

MCDC wish to build affordable housing on the 0.72 hectare site, which is adjacent to Dailraininch in the centre of the village and is working with the Highland Small Communities Housing Trust (HSCHT)

The number of houses and the housing mix has yet to be decided.  This project aims to meet the Scottish Government requirements for affordable housing.

A 28-day open consultation period is required by the scheme and public comments on any aspect of the application are welcome and must be can be submitted by 24th June, 2015.
