Path grading

Path managers and agencies in Scotland are adopting the Standard Waymarked Path Grading System For Scotland – launched in November 2014. The standard system is designed to help users to effectively and confidently select the right path for them.

"The Path Manager’s Guide to Grading" describes the new system, with guidance of how to grade paths consistently and in a way that's helpful to users. You can find the guide, plus more information about the grading system, on the Paths for All website.

Path resurveying

Over 2015, we’ll be resurveying all of the waymarked paths we manage on the National Forest Estate using these new grading standards. For more information on our path resurveying project contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
