Strategy for Scotland's National Forest Estate

Forest Enterprise Scotland’s strategy for managing the National Forest Estate is defined in ‘The role of Scotland’s National Forest Estate and strategic directions’, which sets out our key commitments and actions for 2013-2016.

The strategy is complemented by a set of strategic plans - one for each our ten forest districts - and together they detail how we are implementing the Scottish Forestry Strategy.

Consultation and assessment

The strategies for Scotland's National Estate and each of the forest districts were finalised following a public consultation and were subject to a strategic environmental assessment and an equality impact assessment.
