District strategic plans

The forest district plans define how the national strategic plan will be implemented at a local level within each of our forest districts. They account for local priorities and context and provide direction for implementing a repositioning policy that will ensure that the nature and distribution of the estate better reflects its role and purpose.

Consultation and assessment

The strategies for Scotland's National Estate and each of the forest districts were finalised following a public consultation and were subject to a strategic environmental assessment and an equality impact assessment.
