Mountain biking in Tweed Valley Forest Park
The Tweed Valley Forest Park is renowned throughout the UK and beyond for the quality, design and number of dedicated mountain bike trails here.
Under SOAC cycling on forest roads is available in all the forests but for mountain biking head to Glentress and Innerleithen. They’re both 7stanes mountain biking trail centres, and have dedicated facilities that make for a perfect day out.
Glentress offers over 45 miles (75 km) of dedicated trails, from green and blue routes, great for beginners or family groups, to demanding red and black grade challenges. You can hire bikes, get spare parts for your own, or take classes to improve your skills at the bike shop. Innerleithen is for experienced bikers, with a demanding cross-country route and four technical downhill trails.
If you’d like to be a part of the valley’s biking bonanza, why not join the Glentress Trailfairies. This group of dedicated volunteers help to develop and maintain the trails.
